Privacy Policy

What we collect

  • Your questions and our answers. We store them so you can revisit and share the answer page.
  • Email address, if you sign in. We use it to send sign-in links and receipts. There are no passwords.
  • Name on certificates. The name you type goes on the certificate and on its public verification page.
  • Usage counters. To enforce the free limit of 3 questions a day (and 20 a day on Premium), we set a signed cookie and store a hashed version of your IP address. The hash uses a salt that changes daily, so it cannot be used to track you over time. We never store raw IP addresses.
  • Payments. Stripe handles card data. We only receive a customer ID, subscription status and payment confirmations.

Cookies

We use only functional cookies: a session cookie when you sign in, a counter cookie for the daily limit, and a cookie that remembers which certificates you bought. Your light/dark theme choice is saved in your browser’s local storage. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

Who we share with

  • Stripe (payments), our email provider (sign-in links), and our hosting provider.
  • If AI features are enabled, your question text is sent to the AI provider to find and rank sources. It is not sent with your email or name.
  • Your question is searched in our own index of texts. Only if that index is unavailable is it sent as a search query to Sefaria’s public API.

Public pages

Answer pages and certificate verification pages are reachable by anyone who has the link. Don’t put anything in a question or name you wouldn’t want shown there.

Your choices

You can ask us to delete your account, questions and certificates at any time: contact@pickyourposek.com (placeholder).
